The collaboration with Phase Holographic Imaging began in October 2014 with the evaluation of the newly introduced Time-lapse Holographic Imaging Cytometer HoloMonitor M4. The HoloMonitor technology rapidly established itself as a technology of choice for label-free kinetic cellular analysis and a perfect complement to our existing confocal and high content laser scanning instruments. Based on the importance of time-lapse holographic imaging to our research and educational programs we were pleased to extend our collaboration with PHI and created a Holographic Imaging Cytometry Program of Excellence. The program will cover several activities including:

  • Establishing a network of collaborators utilizing Holographic Imaging Cytometry
  • Developing novel applications supporting research interests of the NU faculty and students
  • Presenting results at scientific meetings
  • Organizing an annual technology symposium and hands-on laboratory courses

It will be essential for promoting core facility services to the NU research community and within the Boston area. Our core facility welcomes those who may want to learn more about HoloMonitor M4, see it in action and use it in their research.”

“Our objective is to foster one-of-its-kind academic-industrial partnerships in imaging cytometry for drug discovery and development leveraging the strengths of Northeastern University and the life sciences ecosystem in the greater Boston-area.”

Ed Luther

Supervisor of Core Imaging and Cytometry Facility

“The Imaging and Cytometry facility is rapidly expanding its Quantitative Imaging capabilities, with the emphasis on laser-based systems for high-resolution imaging and high-content quantification of cellular and tissue samples. The facility serves as a collaborative resource, with state-of-the art experimental results being the primary output.”
